AMS 5622, AMS 5643, Cond. H 1025, solution heat-treated + hardened
17-4PH is one of the most widely used precipitation hardenable steels and contains ~ 17%Cr and 4%Ni. It has an excellent combination of mechanical properties at temperatures up to 316°C with good general corrosion resistance and good toughness in both the base metal and weld metal. Its corrosion resistance is comparable to 304 in most media. It finds application in various aerospace applications from landing gear components to fasteners and fittings, chemical processing and petrochemical processing equipment.
